“Micro” means small. Small to smallest living beings can make greatest diseases and interesting matter is that the remedial things; i.e. medications of these diseases also come from these micro living beings; more correctly speaking microorganisms. Edward Jenner’s cowpox vaccine (1798) and Alexender Fleming’s penicillin (1927) proved this statement. Jonathan Swift describes in his verse the above concept, like-
“Big bugs have little bugs,
Upon their backs to bit ‘em;
And little bugs have smaller ones,
And so ad infinitum.”
Upon their backs to bit ‘em;
And little bugs have smaller ones,
And so ad infinitum.”
We are also looking for remedies of recently discovered life threatening infectious diseases like Swin flu, Bird flu, Hepatitis, AIDS etc. by researching in microbiological fields.
We address the Islamic miracles regarding microbiological aspects, historical background of Pharmaceutical Microbiology to date; about the causes, prevention and awareness of recently perilous diseases like AIDS, Hepatitis, Bird Flu, Swin flu etc; some laboratory techniques to identify and observation of microorganism like bacteria, fungus etc and antimicrobial activity testing of some supplied samples. We tried to do best our work within very limited time. We know, we have a lot of limitations in our work but we have energy to solve these limitations next time if we will get viewers views. We look forward to hearing from them.
We feel happy to see the spontaneous involvement of our students in various activities of this program. Akber has made net blog for this program and taken attempts to publish Magazine. Tariqul, Erfan, Farhad have helped me to invite guests for this program, Rajib, Shahadot, Fuad, Ihsan have helped me to make banner, festoon, cartoon, slogan etc. Yusuf, Mahdee, Erfan, Riaz, Ashraf, Khalil, Novel have done hard work to make exhibition items in this booth. Thank you all. Without all of you this program wouldn’t have been this program.
And finally but incalculably we are grateful to Prof. Dr. Mir Ezharul Hossain, Prof. Abu Md. Ishaque and Mohammed Aktar Sayeed, for their love and support.
